    • Chu Deyi

      Zhu Deyi (1871–1942) was a modern seal engraver and archaeologist. His original name was Deyi, but he changed it to Deyi to avoid using the reign name of Emperor Xuantong. He was also known by the courtesy names Songchuang and Shouyu, and by the pseudonyms Litang, Litang, Hanwei, and Zhouzhen Shanin. He was from Yuhang, Zhejiang. Zhu Deyi initially studied the Zhejiang school of seal carving but later specialized in the seals of the Qin and Han dynasties, producing works that were elegant and strong. His side inscriptions in seal script were also sharp and ancient, showcasing a unique style. In calligraphy, he followed the tradition of the Henan school (particularly Zhu Suiliang), mastering its deep sources, and in clerical script, he studied the Han Li Qi Stele, demonstrating profound skill. He authored works such as *Jinshi Xue Xu Lu*, *Zhur Ren Lu Xu*, and *Songchuang Yi Yin*.

    • Shen Wei

      Shen Wei (1862-1945), courtesy name was You Huo, art name was Qi Quan and Jianchao Laoren, born in Jianxing Zhejiang. He passed palace examination “Jinshi” in 1890 and started editing at Hanlin Academy. He was good at poertry and calligraphy, and lived in Shanghai in his later years.
