Cao Rong. Courtesy name is Qiu Pu, artname is Zhanlu. He excelled in both poetry and painting, and devoted his life to teaching calligraphy. He is one of the most important Taiwanese painters. His calligraphy consists of many works in reisho and gyosho. In clerical script, he inherited it from Lu Shiyi and used Han clerical script techniques. In running calligraphy, he combines the techniques of Yan Zhenqing, Liu Quan, and Zhang Zhao, and is characterized by elegant brushwork. In his later years, his brushstrokes were rough and clumsy, and he put into practice the spirit of "it's better to be clumsy than clever", and created a unique style of innocence.
