Wang Langu

Wang Langu, whose other name is Yingchen, whose art name is Langu, born in Hangzhou, and moved to Japan in the Qing Dynasty when Jiaqing Doguang became famous as a calligrapher. In 1852, he was selected as Jinshi and Shujishi, and became Shaoqing at Honglu Temple.

Lu Xiu
Wang Langu (courtesy name: Mengxiang, literary name: Xingshan) was a native of Jintan, Jiangsu Province. He passed the imperial examination as a jinshi in the 2nd year of the Xianfeng era (1852) and was selected as a shujishi (a scholar for further study in the Hanlin Academy). He eventually rose to the position of Vice Minister of the Court of Ceremonial (Honglu Temple).
