Hotan

• Hotan, a learned monk in the mid-Edo period. When he was young he studied Mahayana, Hinayana, Exoteric Buddhism and Esoteric Buddhism in the Keihan area. After that, he became famous for discussing Buddhism with people who were well versed in Buddhist studies in places such as Edo and Kyoto.
