• Huang Rui, born in Beijing, is one of the most controversial artists in the history of Chinese contemporary art. In 1979, he started the "Star Beauty Exhibition", which became a pioneer of Chinese contemporary art. He has always been committed to the social responsibility of artists and the creation of avant-garde works. In 1980, the 2nd "Hoshiboshi Exhibition" was held. In 1984 he emigrated to Japan and in 1989 held an exhibition in Hong Kong commemorating the "Ten Years of Stars". "Star Beauty Exhibition" is the beginning of Chinese contemporary art and can be regarded as a symbol of the independence of Chinese contemporary artists.
