YAMADA MASAAKI

  • YAMADA MASAAKI, Japanese painter, he began participating in the Jiyu Bijutsuka Kyokai exhibitions in 1950, and studied under Saburo Hasegawa from 1953. He is known for his creative activities in which "painting" seems to be an integral part of his life, and he is proud of the enormous amount of works he left behind in his lifetime, approximately 5,000 pieces. In recent years, he has been attracting increasing attention from abroad. His works were exhibited at the "Sao Paulo Biennial" in 1987 and the "Perspectives on Contemporary Art" exhibition in Tokyo in 1995. Major collections: The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; The National Museum of Art, Osaka; The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto; Chiba City Museum of Art; Yokohama Museum of Art; Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art.
