Liang Yan with the courtesy names as Wenshan, Wenshan, the art names as Songzhai and Duanyanzhai Zhuren, was born in Bo County (now Anhui Bozhou). A famous calligrapher of the Qing dynasty. He was famous along with five important calligraphers of the Qianlong era (Zhang Zhao, Wang Shu, Liu Yong, Wang Wenzhi, and Liang Tongshu).
