Feng Xu

  • Feng Xu, the courtesy name as Menghua, the art name as Song'an, was born in Jintan Wuye, Jiangsu, and was a government official and poet in the late Qing Dynasty. In the 3rd year of Guangxu (1877), he entered the Jinling Book Office as an editor. In the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), he was appointed to the post. Four years later, he passed the imperial examination first-ko with the third highest grade, and became an editor at Hanlin Yuan. In the 14th year of Guangxu (1886), he served as chief inspector of Hunan Township. In the 26th year of Guangxu (1900), he was given a government post and was selected as a dodai. Two years later, he was made a Sichuan envoy. Afterwards, he was transferred to Guangzhou and returned to Sichuan to serve as an envoy to the government of Sichuan. He also served as Anhui Anchor Envoy, Anhui Bus Envoy, and Teaching Envoy.
