Zhang Zhiyu

• Zhang Zhiyu, with the courtesy name as Shoumei and the art name as Tongxuan was born in Beijing. He specializes in calligraphy and seal engraving, especially in bamboo engraving. He carved more than 8,000 bamboos and became the first master of modern Beijing bamboo carving. His disciples include Fanjie An and Wangzhu An.
