Otani Kozui

• Kozui Otani, Japanese monk, religious leader, explorer, historian, and archaeologist from the Meiji to Showa eras. He is a peerage (monk peerage). The 22nd high priest of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji School of Japanese Buddhism (Nishi Hongwanji), Shoshii Earl. His childhood name was Shunmaro, and his legal name was Kyonyo.
