Lai Shanyang, his childhood name is Kyutaro, the other name is Jo, the courtesy name is Shisei, the art name is Sanyo and Sanjurokumine Gaishi was born in Osaka, Japan. He was a historian, thinker, Chinese poet, writer, artist, and Yomei scholar in the late Edo period. His representative works include "Nippon Gaishi" and "Nihon Seiki", which had a great influence on the Bakumatsu Sonno Joi Shishi.
