Wang Jiyuan

• Wang Jiyuan, originally from Anhui, was born in Wujin, Jiangsu Province, and is a modern painter. In 1912 he graduated from Jiangsu Second Higher Normal School. In 1920, he joined the Western-style painting company "Tianmahui " in Shanghai, and later served as a professor and director of the Shanghai Art College. In 1926 he traveled to Europe to inspect Western art. In 1927 he founded the "Geiyuan Painting Institute" and made several visits to Japan. In 1941, he moved to the United States, where he founded the Huami Painting Academy, where he taught Chinese painting and calligraphy.
