Zhang Shizhao

• Zhang Shizhao (1881–1973), styled Xingyan, and also known by the pen names Huang Zhonghuang, Qingtong, and Qiutong, served as a professor at Tongji University and Peking University, principal of Beijing Agricultural School, Minister of Justice and Minister of Education during the Republic of China, member of the Political Council, member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and director of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, among other positions.
