Wan Shouqi

  • Wan Shouqi with the courtesy names as Nian Shao and Jie Ruo, was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and was raised during the Ming Chong Zhen era. After the Manchu people entered the country, he lived a retired life in the Huaihe area of the Yangtze River, where he changed his name to Shou, the Chinese characters to Nei Jing, Ruyi Ruimao, and the pseudonyms to Shamen Huishou and Mingdao Zhiren. He has a wealth of knowledge in a wide range of fields, and excels in poetry, calligraphy, seal engraving, landscape painting, and maid painting. One of his representative works is "Xianxi Caotang Ji".
