Hu Shi

• Hu Shi, whose original name is SiMen, was born in Jixi County, Anhui. He has served as president of the National Peking University, president of the Academia Sinica, American Ambassador to the Republic of China, and director of the private Nankai University. He is one of the pioneers and leaders of the new culture movement. He studied literature, philosophy, history, archival studies, pedagogy, logic, crimson studies, and so on.
