Xutang Zhiyu

• Chigu Podo, a Zen monk of the Yangqi school of the Rinzai sect of the Song dynasty. A native of Xiangshan, Zhejiang, whose surname is Chen. His art names are Ado, Sokkoso. At the age of 16, he became a priest of Fumyoji Temple and became a monk. He studied under great masters such as Xue Dou and Jing Ci. In the second year of Shaoding (1229), he lived in Hsingsheng Temple and visited famous temples such as Boen, Xianxiao, Ruiyan, Yanfu, Paolin, Ikuwang, Zhenzi, and Yushan.
