Chen Jitai

  • Chen Jitai with the courtesy name as Daishi, and the art name as Fangcheng, was an old literary scholar from Chenfang Village in Linchuan, Jiangxi, at the end of the Ming Dynasty. He is one of the "Rinsen Four Great Talents". His father Yi Sheng (whose pseudonym was Nishiyuan) taught at Wuping in Tingzhou, Fujian, and raised Chen Jitai. In the 7th year of Chongzhen (1637), at the age of 68, Chen Jitai became a jinshi. He is well versed in history books and classics.
