Shi Hu

• Shi Hu, Chen Zizhuang, contemporary painter. His original name is Fugui, the courtesy name is Zijang, the artname is Nanyuan, and he was born in Rongchang, Sichuan Province. He learned painting when he was young, sold paintings in Chengdu and other places when he was young, and was taught by Qi Baishi and Huang Binhong. In middle age, his life had become difficult, but he continued to paint. In 1988, he held an exhibition of his posthumous works at the China Art Museum, shaking the painting world. He was good at landscape painting, and often paints farmhouses and village landscapes. He was also good at bird-and-flower painting. He served as a researcher at the Sichuan Provincial Museum of Cultural History and a member of the Sichuan Political Cooperation Committee.
