Lin Yutang

• Lin Yutang, a literary scholar of the Republic of China, Ming family, born in Banzai Town, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, from Longxi, Zhangzhou, and a Christian. He holds a BA in English from St. John's University, a literary master's degree from Harvard University in the United States, and a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Leipzig in Germany. Professor of English Literature at Beijing University, Dean of the College of Literature, Xiamen University, and the first president of Nanyang University.
