Wang Songyu

• Wang Songyu, born in Tianjin. A famous calligrapher and landscape painter. Graduated Tianjin Huiwen Middle School in 1927 and enrolled to Zhang's Chinese Studies Seminar in 1934. Studied under Pu Xinshe (Pu Ru), Liu Zijiu and learned painting. Learned calligraphy from Pu Mo Gong (ie Aisin Gioro Puxiu). Studied classics From Zhang Taiyan, Wen Yiduo, Pei Huichuan. After 1958, worked as a professor at Hebei Art Normal School and Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Artists Association, member of China Calligraphers Association, vice president of China Calligraphers Association Tianjin Branch.
