Chen Chuzhi, born in 1942 in Shantou, Guangdong, moved to Singapore with his family in 1955. He graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1962. In 1981, he co-hosted the "Six-Person Art Exhibition" in Singapore with Chen Wenxi, Hou Xijing, Zhong Siben, Lin Ziping, and Pan Zhengpei. From 1984 to 1987, he served as a lecturer at his alma mater. Later, he pursued further studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. In 1988, he entered the International Artists' Village in France and visited major museums in Paris. In 2006, he won the Asia Art Award in South Korea and the "Cultural Award" in Singapore.
