HAYAMI SHIRO

  • HAYAMI SHIRO, Japanese sculptor, born in Kagawa. He creates black ceramics and stone sculptures using the Japanese tile technique. Many of his stone sculptures are monumental works and public art, and have been placed in over 100 public spaces and other locations throughout Japan, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and the National Museum of Nature and Science. He was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1996 and the Order of the Rising Sun in 2005.
