Zhao Yuanli (1868-1939), courtesy name Youmei, and pen name "Cangzhai," was a modern poet and one of Tianjin's "Four Great Calligraphers." He served as the superintendent of the Zhili Hebei Higher Industrial School and, in 1921, co-founded the "Chengnan Poetry Society" with Yan Fansun, Jin Xihou, Wang Shouxun, and others. Zhao was renowned in Tianjin's modern poetry circles as one of the "Three Heroes of Tianjin's Modern Poetry." Li Shutong, a prominent figure in Chinese culture, once studied under him. Zhao's works include *Cangzhai Ji* (Cangzhai Collection) and *Cangzhai Shihua* (Cangzhai Poetry Talks).
