Chen Hansheng

Chen Hansheng, from Weixian in Laizhou Prefecture, Shandong Province, was a political figure during the Qing Dynasty and a graduate of the imperial examinations. In 1895 (the 21st year of the Guangxu reign), he participated in the imperial palace examination of the Guangxu Bimu and achieved the second-class degree, ranking 93rd. In May of the same year, he was appointed as a probationary official in the Hanlin Academy. In April 1898, after completing his probation, he was assigned to serve as a county magistrate.
