Qian Shoutie

Qian Shoutie (1897-1967), originally named Ya, courtesy name Shuchiya, and pen name Shoutie, was also known by other names such as Shuqingfeng Guan Master and Tianchi Longhongzhai Master. He was born in Hongshengli, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. A renowned Chinese calligrapher and painter in the late Qing and early Republic periods, Qian was one of the founders of the China Painting Association. His studios and names included Shoutie Huan, Meihua Shuwu, Fengqing Guan, Pangbo, Qishi Tang, Yixi Wulu, Zhumo An, Linjiang Guori, and Tianchi Longhong Inkstone Studio.
