Wang Duo

• Wang Duo, courtesy name was Jue Zhi, art name was Shi Qiao, Song Qiao, Chi An and Chixian Daoren, born in Mengjin Henan, a painter, calligrapher of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. His calligraphy was as famous as Don Qichang and they were called “Dong of the south, Wang of the north”. Li Zhimin who was a professor of Peking University and pioneer of the introduction of the Yinbei Rucao script evaluated “Wang Duo’s cursive script was very outstanding and his brush stroke was powerful.
