Wei Letang

• Wei Letang, art name is Botao, born in Mazhu, Yuyao, Zhejiang. A calligrapher, seal carver and famous painter. Moved to the U.S in 1956. The first Chinese abstract painter in the U.S and the first Chinese painter who focused on modern abstract painting in 20century. He made a fusion of Chinese and Western cultures by combining hue of French Impressionism, construction of American abstract expressionism and an attraction of Chinese calligraphy.
