Yi Daan

• Yi Daan, courtesy name is Jifu, art names are Da’an, Dachang, Weizhai and Ruzhai, was born in Heshan, Hudong. He started to go to school earlier and entered to Guangya academy of arts. Studied Chinese ancient texts and abroad in Japan in middle age. Served as the secretary of Sun Zhongshan and wrote the Kuomintang party song. He excels in poetry, ancient writing, gold stone painting, songwriting, seal curving, scholarship, law, and Buddhist studies. He was a professor at Jinan University and National Music Academy. His mentor Zhao Zhiqian became a prominent calligrapher later.
