Fang Chuxiong

Fang Chuxiong, in his childhood, respected and learned from Wang Lanruo, and later studied calligraphy and painting under Liu Changchao. He entered Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1975 and graduated in 1978. He continued to teach in the Department of Chinese Painting there. In 1979, he studied abroad in Beijing and Tianjin. Currently, he is the Director and Professor of the Department of Chinese Painting at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and a part-time professor at Jinan University. He is a member of the China Artists Association and the Executive Director of the Guangdong Artists Association. He has held solo exhibitions in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Jinan, and other places. His works have been selected for the 6th, 7th, and 8th National Art Exhibitions. Other works are housed in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, as well as museums and art galleries across the country.
