Deng Tuo

  • Deng Tuo, originally named Deng Zijian, was a native of Minhou, Fujian Province. He was a proletarian revolutionary, modern Chinese essayist, poet, political commentator, historian, and journalist. His pen names included Deng Yunte, Yinzhou, Di Mangong, Bu Wuji, Yu Suian, Ma Nancun, and Xiangyangsheng. He served as a delegate to the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, a delegate to the First Plenary Session of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and a delegate to the First, Second, and Third National People’s Congresses. He also served as Chairman of the All-China Journalists Association, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Jinchaji Daily, and President and Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Daily.
