Tang Shaoyi

• Tang Shaoyi was a native of Xiangshan, Guangdong (present-day Zhongshan). A prominent statesman and diplomat of the late Qing and early Republican periods, he played an important role in modern Chinese diplomacy. He also served as president of Tianjin University (formerly Beiyang University) and Shandong University.
