Tang Wenxuan

• Tang Wenxuan was born in Xiaogan, Hubei Province. He studied under Zhang Zhaoge, Zhang Zhenduo, and Wang Xazhou. He graduated from Wuchang Art School in 1949 and pursued further studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1951. From 1952 onward, he taught Chinese painting at Huazhong Normal University and the Hubei Art Institute. He was a member of the China Artists Association and resided in Beijing. He held the title of first-class artist and specialized in traditional Chinese painting.
