ITO HIDEHITO is a Japanese ceramic artist born in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture. Known for his works in white porcelain, nerisai (marbled porcelain), and celadon, he creates refined forms that emphasize the inherent beauty of the material. Drawing upon his study of Song dynasty ceramics, Ito has developed a distinctive approach to celadon and nerisai. He received the Grand Prize at the 2013 Paramita Ceramic Art Exhibition and the Japan Ceramic Society Award in 2017. His works are held in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum, and the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu, among others.
