Wu Zi

  • Wu Zi, courtesy name Jizhi, also styled Shanzun, was known by the sobriquets Yian and Nanyu Shanchiao, and in later years adopted the name Dayuan. He was a native of Quanjiao, Anhui Province. In the fourth year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing dynasty (1799), he obtained the jinshi degree and later served as an Academician Lecturer. Skilled in calligraphy and painting, he was also accomplished in parallel prose writing. His surviving works include Xikui Shuwu Ji, Qing Huajia Shishi, Molin Jinhua, and Gengyantian Zhai Biji.
