Zhou Xian
-
Zhou Hao was a calligrapher, painter, and bamboo carver of the Qing dynasty. His courtesy name was Jinzhan, and his sobriquets included Zhiyan (also written as Zhiyan or Zhiyan), Zhidaoren, Zhisou, and Xueqiao. Because he wore a long and handsome beard, he called himself “Huchi,” and people referred to him as “Zhou Hu.” He was a native of Nanxiang in Jiading (now part of Shanghai). Fond of drinking, he maintained a remarkable capacity for alcohol even in old age. Naturally intelligent, he possessed an open and unrestrained character, disliked pursuing official advancement, and was gentle and amiable in his relations with others.
