OGAWA MACHIKO

• Born in 1946 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 1969. From 1969 to 1971, studied ceramics as a trainee at a crafts school in Paris. From 1972 to 1975, traveled throughout West Africa, where she learned traditional pottery techniques while assisting her husband, an anthropologist, in field research. Recent exhibitions include Ore Veins (Shibunkaku, Kyoto, 2024), Ogawa Machiko Exhibition (Galerie Frank Erbaz, Paris, 2025), and Art Basel Paris 2025.
