ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG
-
ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG was born in Texas, United States. After serving in the military, he studied painting and photography at art schools and sought from an early stage to break free from conventional artistic frameworks. Establishing his career in New York, he developed a distinctive approach that incorporated everyday objects, photographs, and socio-cultural imagery into his works against the backdrop of Abstract Expressionism. This approach later culminated in the “Combine” series, a body of hybrid works that merged painting and sculpture. From the 1950s to the 1960s, he also collaborated with avant-garde dance and engaged in international projects, continually experimenting across artistic disciplines. By freely combining materials and images, he integrated fragments of the real world, physicality, and everyday life into his art, shaping a style that had a profound impact on post–Pop Art movements and is recognized for redefining established artistic values.
