ASANO YAE
-
ASANO YAEI is regarded as one of the important figures in postwar Japanese abstract painting. His encounter with the poet and art critic Riichi Noda led him toward abstract expression. His works are characterized by incised linear marks drawn across thick layers of paint, creating compositions of intersecting lines. Through repetitive motifs reminiscent of nets and lattices, he constructs spaces filled with tension and quietude. Within a restrained palette, his paintings reveal a sense of inner spirituality and poetic rhythm.
