Fan Qi

Fan Qi was a Buddhist monk active between the late Yuan and early Ming periods. He was a native of Zhejiang, his secular surname was Zhu, his style name was Chushi, and his childhood name was Tanyao. After becoming a monk, he resided at Tianning Yongzuo Chan Temple in Jiaxing, where he presided over six monastic seats over a period of fifty years, propagating Chan Buddhism. He was revered as a leading master of the early Ming period.
