Li Shichuo

  • Li Shizhuo, courtesy name Tianzhang (also known as Hanzhang and Tiantao), bore several sobriquets, including Shishi Jushi, Taiping Zhuoli, Yiqi Shanren, Gu Zhai, Luyuan, and Xingya. He was a native of Fengtian (present-day Shenyang, Liaoning), though another account places his origin in Sanhan (southwestern Kharachin Banner, present-day Inner Mongolia). He belonged to the Han Army Plain Yellow Banner. Li Shizhuo was the son of Rulong and a nephew of Gao Qipei. He rose in office to Vice Censor-in-Chief (Fudu Yushi) and also served in the Court of Imperial Sacrifices (Taichang Si), earning him the sobriquet “Li Taichang.”
