Shi Ruiguang

• Shi Ruiguang (釋瑞光) was a Buddhist monk and painter, known by the art names Xue’an (雪庵) and also Xuekan (雪龕). His secular name before ordination was Xu Tan. He successively served as abbot of Yanfan Temple outside Fuchengmen in Beijing and Lianhua Temple inside Guang’anmen. He excelled in landscape painting and devoted himself especially to the study of the style of Shitao.
