Chen Wentai

• Chen Wentai, courtesy name Youbo, art name Shidian Shanin, was a native of Houguan in Fujian Province. He was skilled in calligraphy, proficient in poetry, and especially accomplished in bird-and-flower painting. He was a distinguished disciple of Wang Zhizhou and Xie Yingsu of Zhao’an, and Lin Shu was among his close, formally admitted students.
