ZHANG JI

• ZHANG JI is a contemporary Chinese painter who graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned his master's degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Breaking away from traditional academic conventions, his work captures subconscious imagery through abstract marks, rejecting the notion of pictorial completeness. In 2023, he held his first museum solo exhibition "Flame" at Long Museum and was recognized as a prominent young artist in China Guardian’s Spring Auction. His art challenges contemporary art’s pursuit of certainty while stimulating the viewer’s imagination.
