  • FUMIHIKO KATO is a Kobe-born photographer and former professor of English literature, film studies, and 19th‑century British painting at Kyoto Women’s University. Since 1986, he has traveled across Italy, France, England, and Scotland to photograph Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, capturing the poetic resonance and layered history of stone structures. His work is celebrated for its profound blend of historical depth and aesthetic vision.
