Liu Du
-
Liu Du was a painter from Qiantang in the late Ming to early Qing period. He studied under Lan Ying, known as the “last master of the Zhe School,” and became an important member of the Wulin School. His blue-and-green landscape paintings combined the techniques of the Tang and Song dynasties with Lan Ying’s style, and he excelled especially in architectural jiehua and delicate snow scenes rendered with meticulous precision.
