Wang Kongqi

• Wang Kongqi, courtesy name Caibai and also known by the alternative art name Xitong Jushi, was a native of Shexian in Anhui Province and later resided in Nanjing. He was the nephew of Wang Juyou and a disciple of Li Ruiqing. He graduated from the Drawing and Crafts Department of the Liangjiang Higher Normal School in the late Qing period, and subsequently served as a professor at various colleges and universities. He excelled in landscape and flower painting, and was also skilled in Western painting and cartography.
