Chinese Art Selection

Introduce: The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts opened on May 1, 1936. In 2022, we will celebrate the 86th anniversary and we are planning to start a large-scale renovation work for about 3 years from autumn.
The museum is characterized by having one of the best Chinese art collections in Japan, centering on Chinese calligraphy collected by Fusajiro Abe, who was active in the Kansai business world, and Chinese stone sculptures and crafts by Kenshiro Yamaguchi. In addition, Japanese art such as crafts, Buddhist paintings, modern and modern paintings also has works unique to this museum that show various relationships with China.
In this exhibition, we will introduce the charm and spread of Chinese culture by selecting Chinese art and Japanese art of "Chinese style = Chinese style" influenced by it.
