introduction:This exhibition will explore the historical significance of the Gutai Art Association (GUTAI) and its impact on art history through new installations and collection pieces by Shuji Mukai (1940-), a member of the association. It will also delve into its value in contemporary times and future prospects.

Mukai's works, which evoke a sense of unknown rhythms, are themed around Goethe's phrase "Architecture is frozen music." These pieces were inspired by the exhibition space designed by Tadao Ando. Ando's architectural philosophy of creating unique structures that can only exist in specific locations resonates with the artworks, forming a one-of-a-kind stage that expresses GUTAI's uniqueness and innovation.
