Introduce: Following the exhibition in Reiwa 5, we are once again displaying Chinese ceramics donated by Mr. Masayuki Yamamoto in Heisei 12 (2000), after approximately 20 years. From a collection of 417 pieces, last year we curated the "Pottery Edition," featuring painted pottery from the Neolithic period, green-glazed pottery from the Han dynasty, Tang dynasty sancai (three-color ware), and tomb burial goods. This year's "Porcelain Edition" showcases works from the Jingdezhen kilns, which have had a profound impact on the world from the Song dynasty to the Republic of China era. The exhibition's first half will present celadon, white porcelain, and black-glazed wares from the Song and Yuan dynasties, along with pieces from their production kilns. The second half will feature vividly colored glazes and polychrome works from the Ming and Qing dynasties, including the ko-sometsuke (old blue and white ware) that has long been favored by the Japanese.
